Adoption Process and Policies
Thank you so much for considering adoption with The Forgotten Ferals. By choosing to adopt, you are saving a life and helping us to save other cats in the future!
Adoption Process
Please complete an Adoption Application located on the Adoption page of our website. If you have a specific cat or kitten in mind, you can apply directly from their profile. If you would like help finding the perfect match for you, you can use the application form found at the bottom of the Adoption page. After submitting your application, we will contact you as soon as we can. Please be patient with us; we are an entirely 100% volunteer-run organization.
Our application process includes reference checks, questions (for the adopter and for us), a foster or adoption event visit to meet the cat that you are interested in, and perhaps a home visit.
Please understand that we only want what is best for the cats & kittens in our care. This process is not meant to be invasive or judgmental, but rather to simply ensure that our cats are getting the best possible chance at a happy forever home, and to give us peace of mind knowing we've made a good match. Due to our focus on helping feral, abandoned, and homeless cats, please note that many of our cats may need extra patience when moving into a new home, and not all are suited for homes with young children or dogs. Please take the time to read the bios on the cats in our care, to get an idea whether or not they would be a good fit for your home or family.
