The Forgotten Ferals (and other friendly felines) founded by Donna Cowie-Ducharme.
Donna had originally started rescuing when she noticed that there were a lot of stray cats and kittens near her workplace. She took it upon herself to start trapping those she could, even paying for the spay/ neuter herself. She tried finding homes for the friendlier kittens, keeping a couple of the semi-feral ones herself. Eventually she found a rescue in Kingston that kindly offered to help her financially stabilize her colony, as well as a couple of others, while they had the funds to do so, taking the kittens from her colony into their adoption program.
TFF's primary focus is to help reduce the cat overpopulation by providing TNVR assistance to feral cat colonies within the City of Kingston and surrounding areas. TFF takes those that can be socialized into our Foster/ Adoption program, providing vetting which includes spay & neuter. It has also become apparent that trapping services within the City of Kingston are also desperately needed as we consistently receive requests for assistance. We try our best to assist when we can, but it is not always possible to help everyone that requests assistance, this all depends on available fosters, funds, and time.
The Forgotten Ferals is growing. With the help of some very dedicated volunteers, and working co-operatively with local rescues, we have been able to do much more then we initially planned, but continue to still see so much more that needs to be done. In addition to TNVR and trapping, we also have an adoption and foster program and continue to grow in other areas. The Forgotten Ferals relies on donations and fundraising to be able to continuing helping the forgotten felines. Contact us to find out how you can help. Working together, saving one cat at a time, we can reach our goals.
